Man of the Match - Aiden Taylor

Great Win on the Road

Due to an injury to Jack Dean attention by the usual “suspect” match report authors was obviously drawn to the injured player. A-Team (they did not have a game today) and Youth Team goal keeper Conor Latta kindly rustled up a quick report on this great win on the road. This was particularly sweet after last Saturday’s drubbing by Finchampstead. The gaffer clearly found the right antidote.

2 mins: Penalty. Controversial after great tackle from Jack Dean. Cannings booked. Newbury slotted home. Jack Dean had to come off injured. Anthony Taylor comes on.

9 mins: Chris Hurst misses chance after good delivery from Aiden Taylor. Over from nine yards.

12-15 min: Penn & Tylers Green FC settle down a bit.

20-25 mins: Series of Penn & Tylers Green FC free kicks, Newbury’s keeper flapping but nobody is following in. Resulting short corner and great cross from Aiden Taylor which fizzed across face of the goal.

Half Time 1:0 to Newbury – Chairman and Secretary look after Jack Dean who is in agony waiting for ambulance to arrive. After treatment by ambulance crew (Jack did get a kick out of the “laughing gas”) Secretary drives Jack to High Wycombe Hospital. Kept up to-date with score by text….receiving good news!!!!!!!!!

46 mins: Second half starts.

48 mins: Free kick dangerous position Newbury, well dealt with.

50 mins: Good through ball sees Liam Ratcliffe practically one on one. Just gets away from him and pokes it wide.

52 mins: Good Newbury cross from right flick on eludes all and goes wide.

54: Rino Sepede picks up ball 30 yards out (after tonight’s race night at the club it is now 40 yards!!??!!) and unleashes into top right 1:1. Great goal.

85: Newbury free kick cleared for corner resulting in Matt Cannings saving well.

88: Penn & Tylers Green FC coping comfortably.

90: Cross well dealt with by Matt Cannings.

Stoppage time: Shocking free kick given on edge after striker falls over after good defensive work. Great defensive clearance.

Full time – 3:2 to the boys in blue & white. This was a fantastic away win.

Well done everyone and we are top of the league!!!!

Get better soon - Jack Dean

A big thank you to all at Newbury FC for helping to look after Jack Dean until the ambulance arrived. Pleased to say that Jack has been looked after well at Wycombe Hospital and he is now resting at home.
