Holyport FC 5 – 1 Penn & Tylers Green FC

A makeshift Penn & Tylers Green FC battled hard and certainly gave Champions Holyport FC a run for their money. The score line does not reflect the events on the pitch. At one stage in the second half the wood work came between the boys getting back on level terms.

With injuries and work related absentees the team was supported today by some young reserves on the pitch and on the bench.

Hellenic Reserves President’s Cup – Semi Final

Chalfont Wasps Reserves 2 – 1 Penn & Tylers Green Reserves

After a tremendous cup run by the Reserve Team, managed by Steve Laing and assisted by Neil Cannings and Paul Benning, the semi final proved to be the end of the road.

On a mild Wednesday evening the long season and injuries started to show. The large crowd for this local derby did not get to see the quality of football a semi final usually deserves. The legs appeared to be heavy and the extra sprint just was not there. This was the same for both sides.

Walking wounded Penn & Tylers Green suffer defeat at Woodley

Woodley Town 4 – 0 Penn & Tylers Green

A Penn & Tylers Green side travelled to Woodley on Monday night looking to build on the four points gained against Hungerford Town and Chalfont Wasps. This was to be the first of four games in seven days and with a weakened side due to injuries and absentees, it was going to be a tough task against an inform Woodley Town. The players were given the wrong postcode for the second time this season (manager to blame?!) and this was maybe a sign of what was to come because after 2 minutes Penn & Tylers Green were already 1-0 down. Jaime Fairfield was first on the score sheet for the home side after slotting the ball home from close range and things went from bad to worse for Penn & Tylers Green when Dominic MacKenzie doubled Woodley’s lead.

Penn & Tylers Green Reserves 3-1 Hungerford Town Development

A slice of apple pie and a scorching episode of ‘Doctors’. It was lunchtime fit for a king. Unfortunately it was interrupted by Penn & Tylers Green Reserves v Hungerford Town Dev. Penn had made a number of changes from their game against Rayners Lane on the Thursday with a number of players being rested after a tough recent schedule.

Rayners Lane Reserves 1 aet 1 Penn & Tylers Green Reserves

A mug of banana Crusha, two cheeky pancakes with a schmear of Nutella & a searing episode of ‘Brothers and Sisters’. Must be the morning after a quarter final cup win. Now to the evening before, after travelling across to Rayners Lane for a 6pm kick off Penn were confident it would be them that would be facing Chalfont Wasps in the semi final.

Late blow robs Penn of deserved win

Wednesday 13th April 2010 Hellenic League Div 1 East

Penn & Tylers Green  2 – 2   Chalfont Wasps

Hunt 3,Hurst 62 (Pen)                                      Tripp 41, 87

The first evening game of the season at French School Meadows happened to be a local derby between two sides with different ambitions. Before the game if Chalfont were to win all there games in hand they would go second. However Penn were looking steady in mid table. With it being a local derby there was obviously some tension on the pitch but it was on the terraces were it was felt most. Both sets of fans were really backing their teams which resulted in some ‘differences of opinions’ shall we say.

Chalfont Wasp Reserves 1 – 1 Penn & Tylers Green Reserves

An overcast evening met the Penn players on their arrival at Chalfont Wasps for their Reserve League fixture, Penn were hoping to get three points but clearly had their eye on the cup quarter final later in the week. With a number of players missing and a number of injuries leaving them short Penn hoped that they could contain Chalfont and hit them on the break.
